Accessibility Ramp Project
Our Story
Our shared UU value of Equity calls to “use our time, wisdom, attention, and money to build and sustain fully accessible and inclusive communities.” We believe in the concept of radical welcome, which asks us to make our spaces feel like home for anyone who attends our congregation. And to do so before they even arrive. We strive to be a community that takes it upon ourselves to build accessibility into who we are. To foster inclusivity as a spiritual value, because it is an extension of our belief that all people have inherent dignity. We work proactively for accessibility because we want everyone to feel and share our abundant love, without barriers. And because, regardless of whether we are disabled or temporarily able-bodied, accessibility will help each of us.
Building an accessibility ramp is the largest project Abundant LUUv has undertaken so far, in terms of money and volunteer time. Because it is fundamental to who we are, as a faith community that does what is needed to be welcoming to all. All of us are only one accident away from depending on this ramp to get into the building. And all of us are committed to building Abundant LUUv as a transformational, liberatory, beloved community. Join us this Sunday to explore how, together, we can use our time, wisdom, attention, and resources to build a fully inclusive and accessible community.

After donating, please send an email to treasurer@aluuv.org to let us know that your donation is for the construction of the ramp.
